Curing Mange: Batey Style

This is Higuero, a fruit that is mostly used for it’s “shell,” which Dominicans use to carve beautiful bowls, plates, cups, etc.  I have a tree in my front yard and was told I could use the insides to cure Plum’s minor case of mange.  (Also, I was told that making a wine out of the insides can help “clean out the uterus” postpartem…again with the wine-uterus connection).

We smeared the insides all over Plum, working it in really well.  I also did this to the other 2 dogs that hang out in my house every day. (I’m pretty sure I not only run a children’s day care center, but also an animal shelter).

Covered in the white goop and totally embarrassed.  Hopefully this worked.
